A judge who won her Democratic and Republican primaries this past May received an appointment by Governor Josh Shapiro.
Assistant Public Defender Maura Palumbi received appointment to the Butler County Court of Common Pleas on July 3rd from the Governor Shapiro. She will be filling the seat left open by Judge William Shaffer retirement in January of 2022.
The term will be served until January 1, 2024 with the November election deciding who will serve the new term beginning January 2024.
The state Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously voted in favor for Palumbi’s nomination then the state Senate unanimously approved the nomination.
