A public defender is the first candidate in the race for a seat on Butler County’s Court of Common Pleas.
Maura Palumbi announced that she is running to replace Judge William Shaffer on the Common Pleas court.
Palumbi has been an assistant public defender for the county since 2016. Prior to that, she operated her own law practice and served as a law clerk for current Common Pleas Judge Kelly Streib.
Palumbi graduated from Mars High School and earned her law degree from Duquesne University. She currently resides in Adams Township with her husband and two daughters.
The primary election is set for May 16th.
