A new report by the county’s parks and recreation department shows how much grant funding has helped with local projects.
The report found that over $5 million in state grants have been awarded to local parks over the last seven years.
The county’s parks department has also awarded over $800,000 to community parks through their local grant program. Officials say many municipalities have used those funds to help leverage additional state dollars.
The local grants have averaged about $10,000 in awards.
