Crews are busy this week starting a blitz of paving projects in Butler City.
There are around 10 streets scheduled to be paved over the summer.
“We had allocated $750,000 to do street projects around the city. And when it was sent out for bid, it came back substantially lower than expected,” Dandoy said. “And so rather than say ‘Oh good we saved money’ we wanted to more and added more streets to the list.”
The expanded paving project was listed in the city’s long-range plan for funds from the sale of the Butler Area Sewer Authority.
At a meeting earlier this year, the City listed these 10 streets as part of the paving project:
- East Locust Street from Monroe to Cecelia
- West Wayne Street from Chestnut to Main
- West New Castle Street from Main to Bluff
- Holcomb Avenue from Greenview to Thomas Avenue
- Thomas Avenue from Holcomb to Roosevelt Boulevard
- McKean Street from Jefferson to North
- Pepperland Boulevard from Roosevelt Boulevard to Pittsburgh Rd
- Pittsburgh Pike a 200-foot section on the east side
- Marvin Street from 212 to Heim Avenue
