A Butler man accused of shooting another man in the City of Butler last year pled guilty to the shooting and was sentenced on Thursday.
36-year-old Samuel Lopez will serve 36 to 84 months in prison, (with time served) 36 months of probation, and pay $3,000 in restitution.
Lopez pled guilty to aggravated assault for the February 2024 shooting of 32-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Hernandez in the 300 block of East Pearl Street. It’s alleged the shooting was over a dispute about money.
Lopez was also charged with criminal homicide but that count was dismissed after the plea agreement was reached.
He’s been imprisoned since charges were first brought against him June 2024.
