Major injuries were avoided when a vehicle hit a pedestrian Monday.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Route 8 in Penn Township near the intersection with Powell Road.
State police say a pedestrian was suffering from a mental health episode and was walking in the southbound lane of Route 8.
A vehicle swerved to avoid the individual, but still hit the person with their side mirror.
Neither the driver or pedestrian were injured, but the pedestrian was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
