The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators 2-0 last night in the first game of a three game homestand at PPG Paints Arena. Goaltender Tristan Jarry turned aside all 28 shots on goal by Nashville, making his first start in over a week. It was his 200th appearance in net for the Penguins. Jason Zucker scored his 26th goal of the season in the second period. The goal turned out to be the game-winner. Jake Guentzel scored his 34th goal of the season in the third period on a power play.
The victory kept the Pens one point in front of Florida for the final Wild Card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Panthers defeated Montreal 5-2 last night.
The Penguins play back-to-back games this weekend, when they host Boston Saturday for a 3pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR begins at 2:30pm.
