The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-0 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Another frustrating game for the Pens following a big win in Philadelphia Tuesday. The Pens have not been able to put back-to-back wins together since the first two days of December. The Penguins managed just 21 shots on goal last night.
The Pens visit Long Island tonight to face the New York Islanders at 7pm.
Penguins goaltending prospect Filip Gustavsson made 29 saves on 31 shots to help Sweden defeat the United States 4-2 in the World Junior Hockey semifinals in Buffalo. The U.S. team entered the tournament as the defending champions.
