The Pittsburgh Penguins open a five-game road trip tonight in Calgary. Face-off is 9pm. Pre-game on WISR is 8:30pm. The Pens had their five-game winning streak snapped in a 6-3 loss to Montreal Saturday. The Canadiens scored two empty net goals late in the game. Bryan Rust was injured during their pre-game skate and did not play in the game.
Former Penguins goaltender Matt Murray has been placed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators. The move comes just over a year after Ottawa acquired Murray from the Pens and signed him to a four-year contract that pays him over $6 million annually. The 27-year old Murray is winless in six starts this season, and is 10-18-1 overall in 33 games with the Senators.
