The Pittsburgh Penguins play the first of two games in Canada tonight as they try to snap a six-game losing streak. Face-off with the Ottawa Senators is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm.
Meanwhile, Fenway Sports Group has agreed in principle to sell the Penguins to the Chicago-based Hoffmann Family of Companies. The deal is reportedly worth between $1.7 and $1.8 billion and is pending approval from the NHL Board of Governors. The purchasing group is led by billionaire David Hoffmann, who is the founder and chairman, who owns more than 200 brands under its umbrella. If approved, it would give the Penguins their third owner over the past four years. Fenway Sports Group, which purchased the Penguins from Mario Lemieux and co-owner Ron Burkle in 2021.
