The Pittsburgh Penguins blew two significant leads in their back-to-back home games over the weekend. They had a 5-1 lead in the third period Saturday against San Jose, before allowing four goals. They fell 6-5 in overtime in that game. The Pens had a 3-0 lead entering the third period against Utah Sunday afternoon, and allowed another four goals in the third period. The Pens scored to force overtime, but lost 5-4.
The Penguins have now had eight games this season that they have blown a third period lead.
The Pens host Edmonton to complete their five-game home-stand Tuesday.
