The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Rangers 5-1 last night. The Pens scored five unanswered goals after the Rangers took an early 1-0 lead just over a minute into the game. Five different Penguins scored goals. Casey DeSmith stopped 23 of 24 shots on goal. Sidney Crosby led the Penguins goal-scorers with his eighth of the year.
The Pens will host the Rangers again Tuesday night. The Pens have moved into a tie for third place in the East Division with Boston.
