The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2028 third-round draft pick. The move gives the Penguins 28 total selections in the next three drafts, after they had made 16 selections in last week’s 2025 draft. The move leaves veteran Tristan Jarry as the primary starting goaltender, but also opens the door for a young back-up in prospects Joel Blomqvist, Sergei Murashov and Filip Larson.
The Penguins also re-signed wingers Philip Tomasino and Connor Dewar to one-year contracts. The Pens also signed two free agent defensemen. 27-year old Parker Wotherspoon, who played for the Boston Bruins last year to a one-year contract, and 28-year old Caleb Jones from the Los Angeles Kings to a two-year deal.
