The Pittsburgh Penguins won their fifth game in a row last night with a 5-3 victory on the road over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Sidney Crosby netted his 16th overall hat trick in the game. He now has nine goals this season. Jake Guentzel scored his sixth goal of the year. Erik Karlsson netted his fifth. He now has a point in six straight games.
Crosby now has 13 regular-season career hat tricks, tying him with Evgeni Malkin for the second most in franchise history. (Mario Lemieux had 40 hat tricks during the regular season). He also has 57 career points in 39 games against Columbus, including 20 goals.
The Pens host the New Jersey Devils Thursday. The Pens are now two points behind second place Washington and Carolina in the Metropolitan Division.
