The second set of rankings has been released by the College Football Playoff selection committee, and Penn State is back among the top four teams. Oregon remains #1, followed by Ohio State, Texas and the Nittany Lions.
Based on the current rankings, Oregon from the Big Ten, Texas from the SEC, BYU from the Big 12 and Miami from the ACC, would be the highest-rated conference champions and would receive first-round “byes” in the 12-team playoff field.
After their latest loss to Virginia, Pitt has fallen out of all top-25 polls, including the CFP.
