PennDOT officials are reminding residents of safe driving habits ahead of the holiday travel season.
Officials with the state say their Thanksgiving Enforcement Mobilization is underway, with an emphasis on wearing seat belts.
In addition to seat belts, police remind drivers to eliminate distractions while driving and to drive sober.
During the last year’s holiday travel period, which runs from mid-November to January, there were 1,111 alcohol-related crashes resulted in 41 deaths and 661 serious injuries.
There were also more than 380 drug-related crashes, which led to 44 fatalities.
