The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is continuing spring road project maintenance work around Butler County this week.
These activities include drainage work along Freeport Road in Summit Township and Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township along with bridge cleaning on Hansen Avenue in the City of Butler, Evans City Road in Connoquenessing Township, and Route 422 in Butler Township.
Patching will be taking place on Renfrew Road in Penn Township and West Sunbury Road in Marion and Venango Townships with pipe work underway along Prospect Road (Route 528) in Forward and Connoquenessing Townships.
Shoulder cutting is planned for Route 8 and Benbrook Road in Center Township as well as Mercer and Whitestown Roads in Butler Township while mowing will occur along Route 68 (Chicora Road) in Oakland Township, I-79 in Muddy Creek Township, and Route 422 in Summit.
PennDOT is also closing Stevenson Road for about three weeks beginning Monday for full-depth roadway replacement as part of the Route 68 Corridor Improvement Project. The next step in the Balls Bend Safety Improvement Project also begins Monday with the closing of Park Road from State Road to Route 228 for just over a month. Finally, PennDOT is resurfacing a portion of Route 422 at the bridge spanning Moraine’s Lake Arthur beginning Monday.
