The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is announcing a couple of roadway projects underway this week.
First, effective tomorrow (Monday), a detour on Freedom Road will go in place to allow for the closing of Rolling Road. This detour will continue through September 5th. The $18 million Freedom Road expansion project includes new highway and turning lanes, along with signal upgrades and safety improvements with an estimated date of completion in November.
Also on Monday, PennDOT crews will begin chip seal paving on Whitestown Road between the intersections of Route 68 and Hansen Avenue. This work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. with no street parking allowed during that time.
