PennDOT is planning on using federal funds to help improve electric vehicle charging stations in the state.
A new $5 million in federal funding was awarded to the state. PennDOT says the plan is to use the money to help repair or replace some current electric vehicle stations.
There are 293 eligible charging ports at 174 locations in the state, which are all privately owned.
PennDOT anticipates that between 20 to 50 of those locations will receiving funding for improvements.
The funding awards will be announced in the coming months.
