PennDOT is reminding homeowners who live on a state highway about some rules regarding construction projects.
They say that if you’re planning constructing a new driveway or altering an existing one, you have to get the proper permit.
It’s called an HOP permit—or a Highway Occupancy Permit. The permit application needs to be submitted at least 30 days prior to the work starting.
The applications can be accessed by calling the local PennDOT district office.
