Work will begin on a couple of local road projects this week.
First, PennDOT announced that paving will begin Monday on portions of Routes 68 and 228 in Clinton, Oakland, and Summit Townships as well as Chicora Borough. Traffic is expected to be reduced to one lane with flagging so motorists could see delays. This $3 million paving project is expected to be completed in July depending on weather.
Second, PennDOT announced that replacement of the Geibel Road Bridge in Summit Township will get underway on Monday. Crews will need to close Geibel between the intersections with Route 422 and Heist Road with detours posted around the work. This $800,000 bridge replacement is expected to be completed in August.
