A new study from PennDOT is touting the safety of roundabouts.
According to data from last year, the number of fatalities, injuries, and crashes have gone down since a roundabout was installed at 39 different locations.
PennDOT has placed an emphasis on constructing roundabouts and dangerous intersections that used to have either stop signs or traffic signals.
The number of crashes involving serious injuries has gone down 24 percent.
Locally, Cranberry Township has seen a big jump in roundabout construction, including the one at Glen Eden, Powell, and Freshcorn Roads, which was included in the study.
