PennDOT says they have completed over 50 construction projects across Armstrong, Butler and surrounding counties this year.
PennDOT says there have been some major accomplishments this year, like wrapping up the Freedom Road project in Cranberry Township.
They also have resurfaced 120 miles, worked on 19 bridges, and did 383 miles of seal coating.
PennDOT still has major projects set for next year.
That includes
- The Three Degree Road/Route 228 safety improvement project that should wrap up by November 2026.
- Franklin Road safety project that will stretch into the fall 2027.
- Karns Crossing Bridge replacement in Butler Township, that replaces the current bridge and arch culvert. Officials expect that project to last through spring of 2028.
- The Route 68/Route 356 traffic light and intersection improvement, which should be done by next fall.
- The Shearer Bridge preservation project, which carries Route 422 East over the Connoquenessing Creek.
- Zelienople Bridge project that carries Route 19 over the CSX railroad.
