Crews will be taking the next steps in a local road project this week.
PennDOT officials say that beginning tomorrow (Monday) daylight median work will take place on Route 228 between Mars-Valencia and Davis Roads as part of the Three Degree Road Intersection Project. Drivers are advised to use caution as crews work to accomplish safety improvements with through and turn lanes, drainage and guide rail upgrades, signal replacement, ADA ramps and sidewalks. This work is expected to continue through May 29th.
Also on Monday, in Middlesex Township as part of the Three Degree Road Intersection Project, left turns will be eliminated at the intersection with Davis Road. Signage will be posted on Route 228 to assist drivers to use the jughandles at Officer Edward Brooks Drive and Harbison Road. Temporary traffic control devices will be utilized before a permanent median is installed later in the construction season.
Independence Excavating will complete this $56 million project this November.
