With the potential for wintry weather, PennDOT is urging caution while traveling today.
The possibility for ice and snow is expected to impact most of Pennsylvania starting today.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. today until 1 a.m. Saturday.
The weather alert comes with an increase in holiday traffic, with the Turnpike estimating 550,000 vehicles will hit the Turnpike today.
Crews say they will pre-treat roads where necessary in order to prevent icing in the early stages on the storm.
Meanwhile, they also urge drivers to slow down and increase your following distance if you’re out on the roads.
