Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.6% in December, up two-tenths of a percentage point from the previous year.
The state’s civilian labor force declined by 17,000 over the month, driven by the drop in resident employment.
Still, the Commonwealth’s rate remains under the U.S. unemployment rate of 4.1%.
Total nonfarm jobs reached a record high with education and health services adding 5,300 jobs in December, and 51,600 over the year.
