The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers will play Game 2 of their Stanley Cup Playoff Series tonight at Madison Square Garden. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm. Goaltender Louis Domingue will start for the Pens tonight after Casey DeSmith suffered a lower body injury in the opener.
The Pens won the opening game of the series in triple-overtime Tuesday. That game was the longest ever since MSG opened in 1968. Evgeni Malkin’s overtime goal has tied him with Jaromir Jagr for third place on the franchise playoff goals list with 65. Sidney Crosby passed Jagr during the game for ninth on the NHL playoffs career assists list with 124.
Stanley Cup Playoff games Wednesday:
–Carolina defeated Boston 5-2 to take a 2-0 series lead. The Hurricanes won despite losing their starting goaltender Antti Raanta in the first period, after the Bruins David Pastrnak struck him in the head.
–Tampa Bay evened their series with Toronto at 1-1 after a 5-3 victory last night.
