The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-3 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens scored twice in the first minute of play, but soon found themselves back in a tie game by the end of the 1st period.
The Pens picked up another goal in the 2nd period, before scoring three times in the third. Sidney Crosby also made history, becoming just the ninth player in NHL history to reach 1,700 career points. Crosby had one goal and an assist in last night’s win. Bryan Rust scored twice and Evgeni Malkin also registered a goal.
The Pens improve to 7-2-1 and will head to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers tonight. Puck drops at 6 p.m.
FAN INJURED AFTER FALL
A fan was critically injured after falling from the 2nd level at the Penguins game last night. The individual was reportedly trying to get back to his seat, when he tripped and fell out down the stairs.
The fan was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition.
