The Pittsburgh Penguins fell 2-1 in a shootout to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night at PPG Paints Arena. Nikita Kucherov scored the deciding goal in the shootout as the Lightning won their 11th game in a row. Evgeni Malkin scored the game-tying goal with 2-1/2 minutes remaining in the game, allowing the Penguins to force overtime and earn a point, but it was still the Penguins third loss in a row. Goaltender Arturs Shilovs stopped 30 of 31 shots during the game, but allowed two goals in the shootout.
The Pens host the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday night.
