The Ottawa Senators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. It was the Penguins first loss in seven games. The Senators scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining in the game. Ottawa outshot the Pens 31-16 in the game. Tommy Novak and Egor Chinakhov scored the Penguins goals.
The Pens did hold Ottawa scoreless on five power-play opportunities. They did not score on their one power play mid-way through the third period.
The Pens are back in action tonight on the road to face the New York Islanders. Face-off is 7:30pm. The Pens remain two points in front of the Islanders for second place in the Metropolitan Division. They will see the return of Bryan Rust from his three-game NHL suspension.
