The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Despite 45 shots on goal, only Jake Guentzel found the back of the net for the Penguins. He scored on a power play late in the third period. Tristan Jarry stopped 17 of 19 shots from the Sabres. The Pens have now dropped eight of their past 10 games.
The Pens will visit the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night. Head coach Mike Sullivan will not be permitted to be with his team Thursday due to Canadian COVID protocols after a positive test.
