The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the San Jose Sharks 5-2 last night. It was the second consecutive 5-2 loss for the Pens. The loss also snapped goaltender Matt Murray’s nine game winning streak. The Pens move on to Arizona Friday night.
The Pens have now fallen into a third-place tie with the New York Islanders in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams have 56 points. Columbus defeated New Jersey 4-1 last night and have moved into a first-place tie with Washington. Both have 59 points. The Capitals have lost back-to-back games, including a 7-2 loss last night to Nashville.
