The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game begins at 6:30pm on WISR.
The Pens made two trades prior to the Monday afternoon trade deadline. They acquired former 30-goal scorer Rickard Rakell from Anaheim in exchange for Zach-Aston Reese and Dominick Simon, along with a goaltending prospect and 2022 second-round draft pick. Rakell is likely to play on the Penguins second line with Evgeni Malkin.
The Pens also acquired defenseman Nathan Beaulieu from Winnipeg in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round pick. Both players acquired by the Pens Monday have been out of their teams lineup due to injury.
Former Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was traded by Chicago to the Minnesota Wild. The trade sends Fleury back to a playoff contender.
