The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Washington Capitals tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7pm.
Despite a two-game losing streak, the Penguins begin the night tied with New Jersey for first place in the Metropolitan Division. They carry an 8-4-2 record into the game. The Capitals are two points behind both teams at 7-5-1.
The Penguins visit 9-4 New Jersey Saturday afternoon.
The Capitals defeated St. Louis 6-1 last night. Alex Ovechkin scored his 900th career goal in the rout, becoming the first NHL player to ever reach that plateau.
After Ovechkin scored the historic goal, Blues goaltender Jonathan Binnington tried to hide the puck in his pants. An official had to coax the goaltender to give the puck back.
