The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:30pm. This is the first game of a season-long four-game home stand.
The Penguins traded for Minnesota left-winger Jason Zucker Monday. The Pens sent forward Alex Galchenyuk, defensive prospect Calen Addison and a conditional first-round pick to the Wild.
This year – 45 games: 29 points: 14 goals 15 assists
The Pens have been after Zucker for some time, attempting to trade Phil Kessel for him in the off-season, but Kessel nixed that trade and was eventually sent to Arizona.
Penguins defenseman John Marino had facial surgery Monday and will likely miss the next three to six weeks.
The Pens begin the night four points behind Washington, but have two games in hand. The New York Islanders defeated the Capitals 5-3 last night, the second straight loss for Washington. The Islanders are tied with Columbus – both are three points behind the Penguins. The Metropolitan Division is the only division in hockey to have four teams with at least 70 points. The Penguins have 73.
