The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Colorado Avalanche tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm.
The Pens have the worst point total in the Eastern Conference through their first six games of the young NHL 2023-24 season. Colorado is carrying an NHL-record 15 game road win streak into tonight’s game.
The Pens will be without back-up goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic who has been placed on injured reserve with a lower body injury. He suffered the injury during Tuesday’s loss to Dallas. Goaltender Magnus Hellberg has been called up from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to back-up Tristan Jarry. The Pens will also be without defenseman John Ludvig, who suffered a concussion after he threw a massive hit to a Stars player and collapsed on the ice.
