The Pittsburgh Penguins lost 3-2 to the Los Angeles Kings Sunday afternoon. The game was the debut of rookie goaltender Sergei Murashov, who made 24 saves in his NHL debut. Tommy Novak and Anthony Mantha scored for the Pens, who also lost 2-1 in a shootout to New Jersey Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year old Murashov is the fifth-youngest goalie to make his debut for the Penguins since 2000 and the youngest since Matt Murray in December 2015.
The Penguins have now lost four of five games to fall to 9-5-3 overall. They are heading to Sweden for a pair of games against the Nashville Predators this weekend in NHL Global Series games. They are flying to Sweden today.
