The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Anaheim Ducks 2-0 last night. The Pens won their second straight game on the west coast road trip. They also managed the shutout despite losing goaltender Tristan Jarry in the second period when he was hit in the head by an Anaheim player as Jarry lunged to make a save. He left the game after making 21 saves. Magnus Hellberg replaced Jarry and combined for the shutout by making 11 saves in the final two periods.
Rahim Zohorna and Sidney Crosby scored the Penguins goals. Crosby’s sixth goal of the season was an empty-netter.
The Pens improved to 5-6 overall and visit the Los Angeles Kings Thursday night for a 10:30pm face-off. They return home to host Buffalo Saturday night.
