The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in overtime last night at PPG Paints Arena. The win was the Pens fourth in a row. Sidney Crosby scored his 500th career goal in the game. It came in the first period on a Penguins power play. Evgeni Malkin earned the assist. The Pens had five different goal scorers in the game, and had to score twice in the third period to force the overtime after the Flyers scored three unanswered goals in the second period. Kris Letang scored the game-winner in the O.T.
The Pens visit Toronto Thursday. They are now three points in front of Carolina for first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Pens host Carolina Sunday afternoon.
