The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Florida Panthers 5-1 Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena. Bryan Rust led the Penguins with two goals. Sidney Crosby netted his 20th goal of the season. Goaltender Matt Murray stopped 36 of 37 shots. Murray is now 8-0 since returning from an injury in December.
The Pens will begin a five-game road trip Friday in California. They will play back-to-back games this weekend against Anaheim and Los Angeles.
The Pens remain two points behind first-place Washington, after the Capitals defeated Philadelphia 5-3 last night.
