The Pittsburgh Penguins begin a six-game road trip tonight in Boston. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:30pm. The Pens just completed the third-best month of March in team history, going 12-3-1 overall. Their 25 points in March was tied for the NHL lead.
All four of the top teams in the East Division are matched up tonight, with the first-place Washington Capitals visiting the New York Islanders. The Pens and Islanders are tied for second place, two points behind the Caps. Boston is in the final East playoff spot, and trailing second place by seven points. They lead Philadelphia by three points.
The Pens play the Bruins again Saturday afternoon before heading to New York to face the Rangers.
The Buffalo Sabres ended an 18-game winless streak with a 6-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers last night. The Sabres almost ended the streak Monday, when they jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Flyers, only to fall 4-3. They went 0-15-3 during the streak, the longest winless streak in 17 years in the NHL.
