They begin the night one point behind Columbus for second place in the Metropolitan Division and three points behind first-place Washington.
Penguins goaltender Matt Murray is 5-0 with a 1.38 goals-against-average since returning from injury in December.
Boston won the annual Winter Classic 4-2 over Chicago New Year’s Day. The game was played at Notre Dame Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd of more than 76,000.
