The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the New York Rangers tonight for a 7pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm.
The Pens defeated the Rangers 5-4 in overtime Saturday night. Sidney Crosby scored the game-winner in the overtime period. It was his 18th career overtime goal, breaking a tie with Ilya Kovalchuk for third place on the NHL’s all-time overtime goals list.
The Pens lost yet another defenseman, when Kris Letang left the game with a lower body injury in the first period and did not return. The Pens have already had to play a league-high 11 defenseman so far this season.
In Saturday’s game – Evgeni Malkin passed Mario Lemieux for second place in career games played with 916. Malkin also picked up an assist and moved past Jaromir Jagr for third most points in team history with 1,080.
The Pens return home to host New Jersey Tuesday.
