The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Detroit Red Wings tonight for a 7:30pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7pm.
The Penguins begin the night three points in front of the Florida Panthers for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. Florida lost 5-2 to the Ottawa Senators last night.
The Buffalo Sabres also lost last night, falling 4-3 in a shootout with Montreal. Buffalo and Ottawa are five points behind the Penguins. The Pens who have 82 points with nine games remaining in the regular season.
The New York Islanders defeated New Jersey 5-1 last night. The Islanders now have 85 points with seven games remaining.
Carolina, New Jersey and the New York Rangers have already clinched Metropolitan Division playoff spots. Boston and Toronto have clinched Atlantic Division spots.
