The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Islanders 3-2 Saturday night. Sidney Crosby played in his 1,000 game with the Pens and had two assists. Kris Letang netted his first two goals of the season to lead the Penguins. Tristan Jarry stopped 33 of 35 shots. The Pens visit the Washington Capitals Tuesday.
The NHL played two outdoor games in Nevada over the weekend—although sunlight creating a slushy surface delayed both games. Last night – the Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 7-3.
The Vegas-Colorado game Saturday was delayed eight hours because of the poor ice conditions. Colorado won that game 3-2.
