People Prepare for Parker Polar Bear Plunge

The Parker Polar Bear Club is getting ready for this year’s dip into the chilly Allegheny River.

This is the 12^th annual event for the organization and this year participants will take the plunge on Monday, January 1^st.  Registration is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parker City Boat Ramp, with the plunge at 1 p.m.  The cost is $10 per person and plungers who sign up before 1 will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

This event will also include a 50/50, a basket raffle, and sweatshirts available for purchase. An artist will also be sculpting a life sized polar bear sculpture. The plunge will benefit local charities and organizations.
