The Parker Polar Bear Club is getting ready for this year’s dip into the chilly Allegheny River.
This is the 12th annual event for the organization and this year participants will take the plunge on Monday, January 1st. Registration is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parker City Boat Ramp, with the plunge at 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per person and plungers who sign up before 1 will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
This event will also include a 50/50, a basket raffle, and sweatshirts available for purchase. An artist will also be sculpting a life sized polar bear sculpture. The plunge will benefit local charities and organizations.
