The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-0 last night to win their 11th game in a row. Not even Paul Skenes could slow the red-hot Brewers. Skenes went only four innings, allowing six hits and four earned runs. He gave up two home runs in his first loss since July 11th. Skenes allowed a first inning run for the first time in 24 starts this season, the second-longest streak to begin a season in MLB history.
The Brewers hit five home runs in the game. The 11-game winning streak the Brewers are on is their second such streak this season, and the second-longest in franchise history.
Milwaukee is now 75-44 this season. For the Pirates, the loss was their 70th of the season and fourth in a row.
The Pirates and Brewers complete their series today at 2:10pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 1:45pm. Mitch Keller will start for the Bucs.
