The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 2-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. Pirate starting pitcher Joe Musgrove did not allow a run in six innings of work. He allowed three hits and struck out 11. Reliever Derek Holland took the loss – when he allowed a two-run home run to Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina in the seventh inning.
The Bucs have now lost four games in a row – and 12 of their last 13 games. They host the Chicago Cubs for their final four home games of the season beginning tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm. The Pirates finish their season this weekend with three games in Cleveland.
