The Pittsburgh Pirates built a 2-1 lead through six innings against the Atlanta Braves Sunday, looking to win their fourth consecutive series, but reliever Colton Selby allowed four Braves runs in the seventh inning, after getting the first two outs, and Atlanta went on to earn a victory.
Bryan Reynolds had two of the Pirates hits, including his 31st double of the season. Josh Palacios also had two hits, including second triple of the year. Luis Ortiz pitched into the sixth inning for the Bucs, allowing one run on three hits.
The Bucs won Saturday’s game in Atlanta 8-4. The Braves won Friday’s game 8-2.
The Pirates open a seven-game home-stand tonight at PNC Park with the first of four games with the Washington Nationals. First pitch is 6:35pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:10pm.
The Milwaukee Brewers came within two outs of an 11-inning no-hitter against the New York Yankees. Not only did they lose the no-hitter, they fell 4-3 in 13 innings. Corbin Burnes tossed eight no-hit innings, and two relievers kept the Yankees hitless in the ninth and tenth innings
