The Pittsburgh Pirates have picked up right-handed pitcher Shane Carle off waivers from Colorado. The 26-year old Carle was a 10th-round draft pick of the Pirates in 2013, but was traded to the Rockies a year later for reliever Rob Scahill. The Bucs have designated reliever Johnny Barbato for assignment to make room for Carle.
